Job Done

Hi everyone, so the journey north has paid off the weather has cooled and I have stopped melting in the midday heat. I am now in Rapid city (2000 cycle miles since leaving New York) carrying out some urgent repairs to the bike before heading off to visit Mount Rushmore and crazy horse. Unfortunatley I cant seem to load any pictures onto the blog – the computer I am using is playing up – so for now its just text.

Its been fast going since leaving St Louis (14 days to Rapid City) however things might begin to slow down with a few mountains to climb. I have just passed through the badlands and countless indian reservations meeting the locals who have been so helpful on my trip. With free accomodation and places to hide during storms I am feeling very welcome in the US.

The countdown begins with three weeks to go I am racing for portland fingers crossed if everything goes to plan I should arrive in due course ready for flights back to the UK.

Quick thanks to those who have made donations to the Childrens Lukemia Charity….

The heat continues!!!

Hi folks, so we have cycled 1000 miles + and are now north of St Louis in a place called Hanibal (where Mark Twain was born). Change of plan we are heading north in search of cooler climates. We can now avoid Nevada / death valley and enjoy states like oregon and wyoming. I think trying to cross Nevada might have been a bit touch and go. So final destination Portland. A few more miles added to the trip but i’m sure we can catchup less rest days and more cycling, easy!!

Tom’s melted tyre after a hot day!!

Wading through a river nothing gets in our way!
